It is hard to believe that it has only been a year since our little family set out on a new adventure together.
Now
So much has happened that sometimes it feels as if we have crammed ten years into one. When we moved from Georgia to Kansas, from the big city to the middle of a corn field, from a comfortable 1910 cottage to an 1893 fixer-upper farm, we had no idea what was in store for us.
Bryarton Farm wasn’t much to look at when we purchased it a year ago. We had dipped our toes into the world of DIY with our last house and we were ready for the challenge of a real fixer upper—or so we thought. We have learned a lot about what it really takes to have a dream and work very hard to make it come true with a tight budget, crazy weather, and a growing family. We saw potential and we knew we could give this little farm the love it so desperately needed one project at a time.

The addition of our new little princess Avonlee Rose was the most wonderful thing to happen this year!
Lacy the guard dog and the 12 chickens were also additions to the family this year.
