more tea

With Camdyn’s third birthday coming up in just a few weeks, Michael and I have turned our attention from the farmhouse to party preparations.

We realized that the perfect gift for our “lil mommy” this year would be a playhouse. Cami Grace loves to care for her babies, cook, and play house wherever she is. A real outdoor playhouse would not only give her a realistic location for her games, but also provide a place to corral and store all of her toys.

When we looked into buying or building a little house for Camdyn we were shocked to find that it would be thousands of dollars either way! So I tried to put the idea out of my mind. Then one Sunday on the drive to church I noticed a cute, but unloved little playhouse in someone’s yard.

I could tell that no one had played in it in many years. There were rotted boards, peeling paint, and the window was left open. When I finally got up the courage to ask the owner I was excited to find that he was willing to sell it to me for only $200 since his 18 year old daughter no longer wanted it.

By pooling money from painted furniture I had sold and Camdyn’s birthday money from grandma, we were able to not only buy the little house, but pay the $50 to have someone bring it to our house on their backhoe.

What a dream come true for Cami Grace! She just couldn’t stop squealing and clapping, as her mini farmhouse came rolling up the driveway and into its final resting place behind Mommy’s big farmhouse.

Though this little house needs a lot of work it is exactly what Camdyn wanted. We are so blessed to have a God who cares about our dreams. Stay tuned to see the transformation of this little house on the Kansas prairie.
