Over the years we have tried to use this platform – our blog, to share the journey our family is taking. This story began as a historic farm restoration, but after three years now on Bryarton Farm the narrative has grown to be about restoring so much more.

Looking back, we see that God has been using this little farm to restore our wounded faith and our stuck-in-survival-mode family. Looking forward, we want to be intentional about spending our time wisely with the children God has blessed us with. So today we want to have a parent-to-parent chat to encourage anyone who feels they are drifting apart from their kids.

As super-busy parents, we did this video as a reminder for ourselves as much as a reminder for other moms, dads, and caregivers. It’s not about being the perfect parent or having the perfect kids—both don’t exist. What our kids really need is for us to be intentional about setting aside time to connect on a deeper level.

You don’t need to spend any money and it can be as simple as going for a walk together or snuggling up with a book. Noticing that kids of any age crave conversation and undivided attention from the adults in their lives has been life changing! We just want to share a few ideas of ways to spend screen-free intentional time with the young ones in your life. We hope it is also a fun and inspirational look at our crazy little family and the sweet country life.
