I finally snapped today.

After living in a big mess of dirt, insulation, and tools I had a melt down. For a month and a half now our family has been living in a house with no kitchen, an out house like bathroom situation, and ( up until a few days ago) no washer or dryer. When we moved I sold a lot of my hand painted furniture to lighten our load. This made it a little harder when I started nesting in our new place. To solve our end table and toy storage issue I picked up this 70’s beauty from a local thrift shop for $7.

This often the problem when one buys panels from a department store like I did. They are not made to fit a victorian window or anything but the simplest windows and low ceilings. This is what our living room used to look like: dark, dated, and extremely dirty


My wonderful sweet sister Charissa and I started the transformation of the living room by ripping out the bazillion staples, screws, and nails out of the walls and trim. We also ripped out the urine stained carpet, removed the filthy window treatments and fan. Then we scrubbed the room from top to bottom with disinfectant. I had to go to the bathroom during a storm the other night and as you know going to the bathroom at our house includes going out the front door and then back in the kitchen door. (Because the kitchen and bath are temporarily blocked off from the house while we are renovating them) I was scared to go by myself so Michael came with me.
